Rukka Motorcycle Clothing Size Guide

Not sure what size Rukka motorcycle jacket or trousers you need? Measure your chest and waist, then compare your measurements with the Rukka size charts below.

This guide covers Rukka motorcycle clothing for men and women, including waterproof touring jackets, textile trousers and ventilated riding gear. Rukka generally uses European (EU) clothing sizes, with selected motorcycle trousers available in short, regular and long leg lengths.

Important: These are body measurements, not the actual dimensions of the garments. Use the charts to find your starting size, then check the fit of your chosen Rukka clothing.

Rukka Men's Motorcycle Jacket Size Chart

Rukka men's motorcycle jackets generally use European sizes such as 48, 50, 52 and 54.

Measure around the fullest part of your chest and compare your measurement with the chart below.

EU Jacket Size Chest Circumference
46 90–93 cm
48 94–97 cm
50 98–101 cm
52 102–105 cm
54 106–109 cm

60 118–121 cm
62 122–123 cm
64 124–129 cm
66 130–133 cm

Example: If your chest measures 104 cm, the chart suggests a Rukka jacket in EU size 52.

Rukka motorcycle jackets can have different cuts depending on the model. Not every jacket is manufactured in every size shown.

Please note: These are Rukka's general size-chart measurements. Not every trouser model is available in all three leg lengths or every EU size. Always check the sizes offered for your chosen trousers.

Rukka Women's Motorcycle Jacket Size Chart

Rukka women's motorcycle jackets have their own sizing system. They generally use European dress sizes, with UK equivalents shown below.

Measure around the fullest part of your bust to find your starting size.

EU Size (UK Size) Bust Circumference
34 (UK 8) 78–81 cm
36 (UK 10) 82–85 cm
38 (UK 12) 86–89 cm
40 (UK 14) 90–93 cm
42 (UK 16) 94–97 cm
44 (UK 18) 98–101 cm
46 (UK 20) 102–105 cm
48 (UK 22) 106–111 cm
50 (UK 24) 112–117 cm

Example: If your bust measures 92 cm, the chart suggests EU 40, approximately equivalent to UK size 14.

These are body measurements rather than the actual jacket dimensions. The fit may vary between different Rukka women's jackets.

Rukka Women's Motorcycle Trousers Size Chart

Rukka women's motorcycle trousers use European sizes. Both waist and hip measurements are useful when checking the fit.

Selected models are available in C1 short, C2 regular and C3 long leg lengths.

Example: A waist measurement of 74 cm and hip measurement of 99 cm suggest EU 40, approximately UK 14. The reference regular inside leg for that size is 78.5 cm.

If your waist and hip measurements suggest different sizes, try both neighbouring sizes wherever possible.

Not all Rukka women's trousers are available in every size or leg length shown.

What Do Rukka C1, C2 and C3 Trouser Sizes Mean?

Rukka uses C1, C2 and C3 to identify different inside leg lengths on selected motorcycle trousers.

  • C1 – Short: Designed for riders needing a shorter leg.
  • C2 – Regular: The standard leg length.
  • C3 – Long: Designed for riders needing a longer leg.

For example, a Rukka trouser labelled 52 C2 has an EU waist size of 52 with the regular leg length. A 52 C1 has the same nominal waist size but a shorter leg.

Use the tables above to compare the reference inside leg measurements.

Some Rukka trousers are available in all three lengths, while others have fewer options. Check the particular product before ordering.

How to Measure Yourself for Rukka Motorcycle Clothing

You'll need a flexible tape measure. Take your measurements over light clothing rather than bulky motorcycle gear.

  1. Chest: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, under your arms, keeping the tape horizontal.
  2. Bust: For women's jackets, measure around the fullest part of your bust.
  3. Waist: Measure around your natural waistline, approximately in line with your belly button.
  4. Hips: For women's trousers, measure around the widest part of your hips and bottom.
  5. Inside leg: Measure from your crotch down the inside of your leg towards your ankle.
  6. Compare: Use the appropriate Rukka chart to find your starting size.

It's worth taking each measurement twice to make sure you've got it right.

How Should Rukka Motorcycle Jackets Fit?

A Rukka motorcycle jacket should feel secure without restricting your movement or creating uncomfortable pressure around your chest, shoulders or arms.

When trying one on, check that:

  • The shoulder protectors sit correctly over your shoulders.
  • The elbow protectors remain positioned over your elbows when your arms are bent.
  • The sleeves provide suitable coverage when reaching for the handlebars.
  • The jacket doesn't pull excessively across your chest or upper back.
  • There is sufficient room for your normal riding layers.
  • The waist and cuff adjustments can be secured comfortably.

Try the jacket in your normal riding position rather than relying entirely on how it feels when standing upright.

How Should Rukka Motorcycle Trousers Fit?

Rukka motorcycle trousers should sit securely around your waist while allowing you to bend your knees and move comfortably.

Pay particular attention to the position of the knee armour when sitting on your motorcycle.

If the trousers are too long, the knee protectors may sit below your knees. If they are too short, the trousers may pull upwards excessively when you sit on the bike.

Check that:

  • The waist fastens comfortably.
  • The knee and hip protectors remain in their intended positions.
  • The trousers provide suitable coverage over your motorcycle boots.
  • You can sit comfortably in your normal riding position.
  • The jacket and trousers overlap or connect properly.

Choosing the correct leg length is particularly important with protective motorcycle trousers.

Do Different Rukka Motorcycle Suits Fit Differently?

Yes. Rukka uses different materials, constructions and cuts across its motorcycle clothing range.

Waterproof touring suits, including the Nivala 3.0, Explore-R 2.0 and Kalix 3.0, may feel different from lighter or more ventilated models such as the Air Karvik and Air Vihti.

Other ranges, including the Trek-R and Kemi, also have their own construction and fitting characteristics.

Although the general European sizing system is shared across the clothing range, don't assume every Rukka jacket or pair of trousers will feel identical in the same size.

Use the charts as a starting point and check the fit of your chosen garment.

Should Your Rukka Jacket and Trousers Be the Same Size?

Not necessarily.

Rukka jackets are sized primarily around your chest, while trousers depend on your waist and leg length. Women's trousers also need to fit correctly around the hips.

You might need EU 52 in a jacket but EU 50 in trousers, for example.

Choose each garment using the appropriate measurements rather than automatically ordering matching size numbers.

If you're buying a matching Rukka suit, check that the jacket and trousers connect properly and that both garments fit comfortably together.
