Vcan Motorcycle Helmet Size Guide
Not sure what size Vcan motorcycle helmet you need? Measure around the widest part of your head, approximately 2 cm above your eyebrows, then compare your measurement with the Vcan helmet size charts below. Most adult Vcan helmets use the same general head circumference measurements, although the internal shape and padding can differ between models.
Our guide covers Vcan full-face, flip-front, open-face, Bluetooth and children's helmets. Models include the H128, H135 Retro, H151, H162 X-Zero, H276, H299, H589 and V151 Kids, along with several older Vcan helmets.
Vcan Motorcycle Helmet Size Charts
Important: The measurements below refer to head circumference in centimetres, not the outside dimensions of the helmet. Not every Vcan model is manufactured in every size shown. Always check the fit of your particular helmet before riding.
Vcan H128, H135, H151 and H162 Full-Face Helmet Size Chart
The following Vcan full-face motorcycle helmets use the standard adult head circumference measurements:
- Vcan H128
- Vcan H128 Blinc Bluetooth
- Vcan H135 Retro Vintage
- Vcan H151
- Vcan H162 X-Zero
- Vcan H162 Lifeforce
- Vcan H162 Facestroke
- Vcan V128
| Helmet Size | Head Circumference |
|---|---|
| XS | 53–54 cm |
| S | 55–56 cm |
| M | 57–58 cm |
| L | 59–60 cm |
| XL | 61–62 cm |
| XXL / 2XL | 63–64 cm |
These measurements provide the standard adult sizing reference for the listed Vcan full-face helmets.
For example, the H128 and H151 are conventional full-face designs, while the H135 Retro has a more traditional appearance. The H162 X-Zero uses a modern full-face design with its own internal padding arrangement.
Although the head measurements follow the same general sizing system, the helmets won't necessarily feel identical when worn.
Different shell shapes, comfort liners and cheek pads can affect how firmly a helmet fits around your forehead, temples and cheeks.
The H128 Blinc also includes integrated Bluetooth communication equipment. This doesn't change the importance of getting the helmet size right.
Vcan H276, H299 and H272 Flip-Front Helmet Size Chart
Vcan produces several flip-front and modular motorcycle helmets, including models with integrated Bluetooth communication.
This chart covers:
- Vcan H276
- Vcan H276 Blinc Bluetooth
- Vcan H299 Falcon
- Vcan H272
| Helmet Size | Head Circumference |
|---|---|
| XS | 53–54 cm |
| S | 55–56 cm |
| M | 57–58 cm |
| L | 59–60 cm |
| XL | 61–62 cm |
| XXL / 2XL | 63–64 cm |
The H276 and H299 are newer Vcan modular helmet designs, while the H272 is an older flip-front model.
These helmets follow the general Vcan adult head circumference chart, although their available sizes and internal construction may vary.
A flip-front helmet should fit securely with the chin bar closed and the chin strap correctly fastened.
Some Vcan flip-front models have dual P/J approval, allowing them to be used with the chin bar open or closed. However, this approval must be checked for the specific helmet. Never assume every flip-front model is approved for riding with the chin bar open.
If your Vcan helmet has integrated Bluetooth equipment, check that the speaker areas don't create uncomfortable pressure around your ears.
Vcan H589, H586 and Other Open-Face Helmet Size Chart
Vcan also manufactures open-face motorcycle helmets, including traditional retro designs and models with integrated sun visors.
Models include:
- Vcan H589
- Vcan H586
- Vcan H595
- Vcan V541
- Vcan V537
| Helmet Size | Head Circumference |
|---|---|
| XS | 53–54 cm |
| S | 55–56 cm |
| M | 57–58 cm |
| L | 59–60 cm |
| XL | 61–62 cm |
| XXL / 2XL | 63–64 cm |
This is the general adult Vcan sizing reference. Not every open-face model is manufactured in every size shown.
The H589 is a traditional open-face helmet, while the H586 offers a different shell and visor arrangement. The V541 is another open-face design aimed at riders who prefer a more compact helmet style.
Although the published sizing system is similar, open-face helmets can feel different from full-face models because they don't have the same chin bar and cheek padding arrangement.
A correctly fitted open-face helmet must still feel snug around your head and remain securely positioned with the strap fastened.
Vcan V151 Kids Motorcycle Helmet Size Chart
Vcan produces the V151 children's full-face motorcycle helmet, which uses a separate sizing system from the adult range.
The V151 Kids helmet uses the following measurements:
| Youth Size | Head Circumference |
|---|---|
| S | 47–48 cm |
| M | 49–50 cm |
| L | 51–52 cm |
Important: A children's Large Vcan helmet is not the same size as an adult Large. The V151 Kids Large covers 51–52 cm, whereas adult Large covers 59–60 cm.
Always measure the child's head properly rather than choosing a helmet based on age.
Never buy a motorcycle helmet that's too large simply to leave room for a child to grow. The helmet must fit correctly when it's being used.
Do All Vcan Motorcycle Helmets Fit the Same?
Most adult Vcan motorcycle helmets follow a consistent general sizing chart. For example, Medium corresponds to 57–58 cm, Large to 59–60 cm and XL to 61–62 cm.
However, that doesn't mean every Vcan helmet feels identical.
The H128, H162 X-Zero, H276 and H589 have different shell designs, internal padding arrangements and intended uses.
This can affect how firmly the helmet fits around your forehead, temples, cheeks and crown.
The correct helmet is the one that fits securely without painful pressure points or excessive movement. A size chart is a useful starting point, but it doesn't replace trying the helmet on.
How to Measure Your Head for a Vcan Helmet
You'll need a flexible tape measure, preferably the type used for sewing. If you haven't got one, a piece of string and a ruler will do the job.
- Position the tape: Wrap it around the widest part of your head, approximately 2 cm above your eyebrows and just above your ears.
- Keep it level: Make sure the tape passes around the back of your head without slipping upwards or downwards.
- Measure carefully: Hold the tape snugly against your head without pulling it excessively tight.
- Record your measurement: Write down the circumference in centimetres.
- Check again: Repeat the measurement two or three times to confirm the result.
- Find your size: Compare your measurement with the appropriate Vcan size chart above, then try on the helmet to check the fit.
If possible, ask someone to help you measure. It's surprisingly easy to position a tape measure incorrectly when doing it yourself.
How Should a Vcan Motorcycle Helmet Fit?
A properly fitted Vcan motorcycle helmet should feel snug and secure without causing painful pressure points. It should move with your head rather than sliding around independently.
- Forehead and temples: The lining should make firm, even contact without causing pain.
- Cheeks: The cheek pads on full-face and flip-front helmets should feel snug against your face.
- Crown: There shouldn't be noticeable gaps between your head and the internal lining.
- Movement: With the chin strap correctly fastened, gently move the helmet from side to side and forwards and backwards. It should remain securely positioned.
- Comfort: Wear the helmet indoors for a while to check whether uncomfortable pressure develops.
A helmet that's already loose when new isn't a good starting point, because the comfort padding may settle further with use.
What If You're Between Two Vcan Helmet Sizes?
If your head measurement falls between two sizes, try both wherever possible.
Don't automatically choose the larger size simply because it feels easier to put on. A properly fitted helmet should feel secure without excessive movement.
Equally, don't force yourself into a helmet that causes painful pressure. Sometimes the problem is the internal shape rather than the letter size.
The comfort padding may settle slightly with use, but the protective EPS liner isn't designed to compress to accommodate an incorrectly sized helmet.
How Do You Know If a Vcan Helmet Is Too Big?
A Vcan helmet may be too large if it slides onto your head with very little resistance, moves independently of your head or feels loose around the cheeks and forehead.
With the chin strap correctly fastened, gently move the helmet from side to side and forwards and backwards. Excessive movement may indicate that the size or internal shape isn't suitable.
Remember that the internal comfort padding can compress slightly with use, making an already loose helmet feel even looser.
How Do You Know If a Vcan Helmet Is Too Small?
A helmet that's too small may cause painful pressure around your forehead, temples or the sides of your head.
Some initial firmness is normal, particularly around the cheek pads, but persistent discomfort isn't something you should simply put up with.
The comfort padding may settle slightly with use, but the protective EPS impact liner shouldn't be crushed or modified to make a helmet fit.

Vcan Motorcycle Helmets With Built-In Bluetooth Intercoms
Vcan produces several motorcycle helmets with factory-fitted Blinc Bluetooth communication systems. These helmets are worth considering if you want to make calls, listen to music or receive sat nav instructions without fitting a separate communication unit.
The main Vcan Bluetooth-equipped models include:
- Vcan H128 Blinc: A full-face motorcycle helmet featuring the integrated Blinc Mini S7 Bluetooth communication system.
- Vcan H272 Blinc: A flip-front motorcycle helmet with the factory-fitted Blinc A4 system, including helmet-to-helmet intercom functionality.
- Vcan H276 Blinc: A flip-front motorcycle helmet featuring the Blinc A4 Bluetooth intercom system.
Important: Not every Vcan H128, H272 or H276 comes with Bluetooth. Look for the Blinc designation when choosing your helmet.
These Bluetooth-equipped versions follow the general Vcan adult helmet sizing measurements shown above. However, the internal speakers and communication equipment can affect comfort around your ears.
When trying one on, check that the helmet fits securely and that the speakers don't create uncomfortable pressure. Never modify the protective shell or EPS liner to accommodate communication equipment.

Do Vcan Flip-Front Helmets Fit Differently?
Vcan manufactures several flip-front motorcycle helmets, including the H276, H299 and H272.
These generally follow the standard adult head circumference measurements, but their different construction and cheek padding can affect how they feel compared with a full-face helmet.
When trying on a flip-front helmet, make sure it fits properly with the chin bar closed and the retaining strap correctly fastened.
Some modular helmets are approved for riding with the chin bar open, but others aren't. Always check the approval markings and instructions for your particular model.
Can You Wear Glasses With a Vcan Helmet?
Many riders wear prescription glasses with their Vcan motorcycle helmets, although comfort depends on the particular model, your glasses and your head shape.
Try the helmet with your normal glasses wherever possible. Make sure the arms don't create painful pressure around your temples and that your glasses remain correctly positioned.
If you're trying on a Vcan helmet with built-in Bluetooth, also check that the glasses don't interfere with the helmet's speaker areas.
