Axor Motorcycle Helmet Size Guide

Not sure what size Axor motorcycle helmet you need? Measure around your head just above your eyebrows, then compare your measurement with the Axor helmet size chart below.

This guide covers Axor motorcycle helmets including the Apex, Rage, X-Cross, SH890 Hunter, Striker and Jet ranges.

Axor Motorcycle Helmet Size Chart

Helmet Size Head Circumference
XS 53–54 cm
S 55–56 cm
M 57–58 cm
L 59–60 cm
XL 61–62 cm
XXL / 2XL 63–64 cm

Please note: These measurements follow the Axor sizing chart used by UK retailers. Axor's international website lists XL as 61 cm, while the UK chart lists 61–62 cm. If you measure 62 cm, we particularly recommend trying the helmet on before ordering. Not every Axor model is available in every size.

How to Measure Your Head for an Axor Helmet

You'll need a flexible tape measure. If you haven't got one, a piece of string and a ruler will do.

  1. Wrap the tape around the widest part of your head, approximately 2–2.5 cm above your eyebrows and just above your ears.
  2. Keep the tape level, making sure it passes around the widest part of the back of your head.
  3. Hold the tape comfortably snug without pulling it tight.
  4. Read your head circumference in centimetres and compare it with the Axor size chart above.

It's worth measuring twice to make sure you've got it right.

How Should an Axor Motorcycle Helmet Fit?

An Axor helmet should feel snug and secure without causing painful pressure around your forehead or temples.

The internal padding should make even contact with your head. On full-face helmets such as the Apex, Rage and Hunter, the cheek pads should feel firm against your face without causing discomfort.

With the chin strap fastened, gently move the helmet from side to side and forwards and backwards. It should move with your head rather than sliding around independently.

Remember that helmet comfort padding can settle slightly with use. A helmet that's already loose when new is unlikely to get any better.

If you're between two sizes, try both wherever possible. The correct fit matters more than the letter on the label.

Do Axor Apex, Rage and X-Cross Helmets Fit the Same?

The Axor Apex, Rage and X-Cross use the same general head circumference measurements, but their different designs and internal padding can affect how they feel when worn.

The Apex is a sport-touring full-face helmet, the Rage is a more straightforward road helmet, and the X-Cross is designed for adventure riding.

Other Axor models, including the Striker open-face helmet and SH890 Hunter full-face helmet, also use Axor's general sizing measurements as a starting point.

Always try your chosen helmet on where possible rather than assuming it will fit exactly like another model.
