These are body measurements, not the actual dimensions of the jacket. Different Alpinestars models can have different cuts, so always check the fit before riding.

Alpinestars Men's Leather Jacket EU Size Chart
Many Alpinestars leather motorcycle jackets use European sizes such as 48, 50, 52 and 54 rather than Small, Medium and Large.

Example: A chest measurement of 104 cm corresponds to EU 52, equivalent to a UK 42 jacket.
This European sizing system is commonly used for Alpinestars leather sports and racing jackets. The measurements should not be confused with the separate Small-to-4XL chart above.
Leather motorcycle jackets often have a closer, more structured fit than textile touring jackets. Check that the chest and shoulders are comfortable and that the protective armour stays correctly positioned.
Alpinestars Stella Women's Motorcycle Jacket Size Chart
Alpinestars Stella motorcycle jackets are designed specifically for women riders, with their own sizing measurements.
For Stella jackets, measure around the fullest part of your bust and compare your measurement with the chart below.

Example: A bust measurement of 92 cm suggests a Medium Stella jacket.
If your bust and waist measurements suggest different sizes, try the neighbouring sizes wherever possible. The jacket needs to fit comfortably without allowing the protective armour to move excessively.
Some Stella leather jackets are labelled with European sizes rather than letter sizes. Check the size options offered for your particular model.
How to Measure Yourself for an Alpinestars Motorcycle Jacket
You'll need a flexible tape measure. If you haven't got one, a piece of string and a ruler will do.
- Chest: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape level under your arms.
- Bust: For women's Stella jackets, measure around the fullest part of your bust.
- Waist: Measure around your natural waistline, approximately in line with your belly button.
- Arms: Check the sleeve length from your shoulder to your wrist.
- Compare: Use the appropriate Alpinestars jacket chart above to find your starting size.
Keep the tape comfortably snug without pulling it tight. It's worth measuring twice to make sure you've got it right.
How Should an Alpinestars Motorcycle Jacket Fit?
An Alpinestars motorcycle jacket should fit securely without restricting your movement or causing uncomfortable pressure around your chest, shoulders or arms.
When trying one on, check that:
- The shoulder protectors sit correctly over your shoulders.
- The elbow armour remains positioned over your elbows when your arms are bent.
- The sleeves provide suitable wrist coverage when reaching towards the handlebars.
- The jacket doesn't pull excessively across your chest or upper back.
- There's enough room for your usual riding layers without making the jacket too loose.
- The waist and cuffs can be fastened comfortably.
Try the jacket in your normal riding position wherever possible. A jacket that feels comfortable standing upright may feel different when leaning forward over the handlebars.
Do Alpinestars Leather and Textile Jackets Fit Differently?
Yes. Although Alpinestars provides general sizing measurements, the actual fit can vary between leather and textile jackets.
Sports leather jackets are often designed for a closer fit, with shaped sleeves and stretch panels intended to improve comfort when leaning forward on the motorcycle.
Touring and waterproof textile jackets may have a more relaxed cut, allowing room for thermal layers and a more upright riding position.
Different models can also have different sleeve lengths, waist adjustments and internal armour arrangements.
Don't assume that a Medium leather jacket will fit exactly like a Medium textile jacket. Use the correct size chart as a starting point and try the jacket on wherever possible.
What If You're Between Two Alpinestars Jacket Sizes?
If your measurements fall between sizes, try both wherever possible.
Don't automatically buy a larger jacket simply to leave plenty of room underneath. Excessively loose motorcycle clothing can allow protective armour to move away from the areas it's intended to protect.
Equally, don't choose a jacket that's uncomfortably tight or prevents you from moving freely.
If you use a separate motorcycle airbag system, check the airbag manufacturer's fitting and compatibility instructions before choosing your jacket size. Some systems require additional space for inflation.
