Airoh Motorcycle Helmet Size Guide
Not sure what size Airoh motorcycle helmet you need? Measure the circumference of your head just above your eyebrows and compare it with the Airoh helmet size charts below. Most Airoh helmets use similar measurements, but some models have different sizing, particularly in the larger sizes.
Our guide covers Airoh road, adventure, motocross, trials and open-face helmets, including the Spark 2, Commander 2, Matryx, Connor, GP 800, Mathisse II, Aviator Ace 2, Twist 3, Wraaap, H 21, Helyos, Kombakt and TRR II. Find your model and use the corresponding chart before choosing a size.
Airoh Motorcycle Helmet Size Charts by Model
Important: The measurements below are head circumferences in centimetres, not the outside dimensions of the helmet. Some Airoh models have different measurements for the same letter size, so always check your model first. A size chart is only a starting point; the helmet must also fit correctly.
Airoh Spark 2, Matryx, Connor and Twist 3 Size Chart
The following Airoh models use the same published head circumference measurements:
- Airoh Spark 2
- Airoh Matryx
- Airoh Matryx Carbon
- Airoh Connor
- Airoh Twist 3
| Helmet Size | Head Circumference |
|---|---|
| XS | 53–54 cm |
| S | 55–56 cm |
| M | 57–58 cm |
| L | 59–60 cm |
| XL | 61–62 cm |
| XXL | 63 cm |
These helmets share the same published sizing measurements, although their internal shapes, cheek pads and shell designs may affect how they feel when worn.
For example, the Spark 2 is a road-going full-face helmet, while the Twist 3 is designed for off-road riding. The same head circumference chart does not guarantee an identical fit.
Airoh Commander 2 and Bandit (BADX-X) Size Chart
The Airoh Commander 2 adventure helmet and Airoh Bandit (BADX-X) dual-sport helmet use the following sizing measurements. Their charts extend to XXXL.
This chart applies to:
- Airoh Commander 2
- Airoh Commander 2 Carbon
- Airoh Bandit (BADX-X)
| Helmet Size | Head Circumference |
|---|---|
| XS | 53–54 cm |
| S | 55–56 cm |
| M | 57–58 cm |
| L | 59–60 cm |
| XL | 61–62 cm |
| XXL | 63 cm |
| XXXL | 64 cm |
Although these models share the same published measurements, the fit can still differ because of the internal shape and padding. Always try your chosen helmet on where possible.
Airoh GP 800 and Aviator Ace 2 Size Chart
The GP 800 and Aviator Ace 2 ranges use a slightly different measurement at XL, which Airoh lists as 61 cm rather than 61–62 cm.
This chart applies to:
- Airoh GP 800
- Airoh GP 800 Carbon
- Airoh Aviator Ace 2
- Airoh Aviator Ace 2 Carbon
| Helmet Size | Head Circumference |
|---|---|
| XS | 53–54 cm |
| S | 55–56 cm |
| M | 57–58 cm |
| L | 59–60 cm |
| XL | 61 cm |
Don't assume that XL covers 61–62 cm on these models. Airoh's published product charts specify 61 cm.
Airoh Mathisse II Flip-Front Helmet Size Chart
The Airoh Mathisse II uses its own measurements from XL upwards. These differ from the standard Airoh chart, so use the following figures for this model.
| Helmet Size | Head Circumference |
|---|---|
| XS | 53–54 cm |
| S | 55–56 cm |
| M | 57–58 cm |
| L | 59–60 cm |
| XL | 61 cm |
| XXL | 62 cm |
| XXXL | 63–64 cm |
For example, a 63 cm head measurement corresponds to XXL in the Commander 2 chart but XXXL in the Mathisse II chart. This is why the model-specific measurements matter.
Airoh Wraaap Motocross Helmet Size Chart
The Airoh Wraaap uses the standard larger-size measurements but also includes XXS for smaller head circumferences.
| Helmet Size | Head Circumference |
|---|---|
| XXS | 51–52 cm |
| XS | 53–54 cm |
| S | 55–56 cm |
| M | 57–58 cm |
| L | 59–60 cm |
| XL | 61–62 cm |
| XXL | 63 cm |
Because the Wraaap range includes smaller sizes, it's important to measure younger riders properly rather than choosing by age or assuming they need an adult Small.
Airoh Helyos, Kombakt and TRR II Size Chart
Some of Airoh's open-face and trials-style helmets use a more compact sizing system. In these models, Large and above correspond to smaller head circumferences than in many Airoh full-face helmets.
This chart applies to:
- Airoh Helyos
- Airoh Kombakt
- Airoh TRR II
- Airoh TRR II Carbon
| Helmet Size | Head Circumference |
|---|---|
| XS | 53–54 cm |
| S | 55–56 cm |
| M | 57–58 cm |
| L | 59 cm |
| XL | 60 cm |
| XXL | 61 cm |
For example, a 60 cm head circumference corresponds to XL in these models, but Large in the Spark 2 or Commander 2. Check the relevant model rather than assuming all Airoh helmets share the same measurements.
Airoh H 21 Helmet Size Chart
The Airoh H 21 open-face helmet uses a different sizing system from the standard Airoh chart. Its Medium and larger measurements need particular attention.
| Helmet Size | Head Circumference |
|---|---|
| XS | 53–54 cm |
| S | 55–56 cm |
| M | 57 cm |
| L | 58 cm* |
| XL | 60–61 cm |
| XXL | 62–63 cm |
| XXXL | 64 cm |
*The standard Airoh H 21 chart lists Large as 58 cm, while the H 21 Carbon chart lists Large as 58–59 cm. Check the correct chart for your particular H 21 version.
What About Other Airoh Helmet Models?
Airoh has manufactured a wide range of helmets over the years, including the Aviator 3, GP 550 S, older Commander models, Valor, Strycker and various discontinued road and off-road helmets.
The manufacturer's general sizing guide provides a useful starting point, but don't automatically apply it to a model that isn't listed above. Check the model-specific instructions or contact RaceLeathers for fitting advice.
How to Measure Your Head for an Airoh Helmet
Before using an Airoh size chart, measure your head with a flexible tape measure. If you don't have one, use a piece of string and measure it with a ruler afterwards.
- Position the tape: Wrap it around the widest part of your head, just above your eyebrows and ears.
- Keep it level: Make sure the tape passes around the back of your head without slipping upwards or downwards.
- Measure carefully: Keep the tape comfortably against your head without pulling it tight.
- Record the measurement: Write down your head circumference in centimetres.
- Check it again: Take the measurement two or three times to confirm the result.
- Find the correct model: Use the relevant Airoh chart above and try on the helmet to check the fit.
If possible, ask someone to help you measure. Even a small measuring error can make a difference when choosing a motorcycle helmet.
How Should an Airoh Motorcycle Helmet Fit?
A properly fitted Airoh helmet should feel snug and secure without creating painful pressure points. It should move with your head rather than sliding around independently.
- Forehead and temples: The lining should make even contact without painful pressure.
- Cheeks: The cheek pads on full-face and suitable adventure helmets should feel snug against your face.
- Crown: There shouldn't be noticeable gaps between your head and the helmet's lining.
- Movement: With the chin strap correctly fastened, gently move the helmet from side to side and forwards and backwards. It should remain secure.
- Comfort: Wear the helmet indoors for a while to check whether uncomfortable pressure develops.
Different Airoh models can feel different even when they share the same centimetre measurements. The correct shape is just as important as the correct size.
What If You're Between Two Airoh Helmet Sizes?
If your head circumference falls between two sizes, try both where possible. The best fit is the helmet that feels secure without painful pressure points or excessive movement.
Don't automatically choose a larger helmet just because it feels easier to put on. Comfort padding may settle slightly with use, so a helmet that's already loose when new can become looser.
Equally, don't force yourself into a helmet that's painfully tight. Some firmness is normal, but persistent discomfort can mean the size or shape is wrong.
How Do You Know If an Airoh Helmet Is Too Big?
An Airoh helmet may be too big if it slides on very easily, moves independently of your head or feels loose around your cheeks and forehead.
With the chin strap securely fastened, gently move the helmet from side to side and forwards and backwards. Excessive movement may indicate an unsuitable size or shape.
Remember that the internal comfort padding can compress slightly over time.
How Do You Know If an Airoh Helmet Is Too Small?
A helmet that's too small may cause painful pressure around your forehead, temples or the sides of your head.
Some initial firmness is normal, particularly around the cheek pads, but persistent pain isn't something you should simply put up with.
The comfort padding may settle slightly with use, but the protective EPS liner isn't designed to compress to accommodate an incorrectly sized helmet.
For more advice, read our guide to dealing with a tight motorcycle helmet.
Do Airoh Motocross Helmets Fit Differently?
Airoh produces several off-road helmets, including the Twist 3, Wraaap and Aviator ranges. Although some use the same published head measurements as road helmets, their different interior designs may affect the fit.
If you're buying a motocross helmet, make sure it fits securely and that your goggles work comfortably with the helmet.
Children and younger riders should also be measured properly rather than having a size chosen purely by age.
Never buy a helmet that's too large simply to leave room for a child to grow.
Can You Wear Glasses With an Airoh Helmet?
Many riders wear spectacles with Airoh helmets, but comfort depends on the model, the shape of your glasses and your head.
Always try the helmet with your normal glasses where possible. Check that the arms don't create painful pressure around your temples and that your glasses remain correctly positioned.

Are Airoh motocross helmets the same size as road helmets?
Some share identical published head circumference measurements, but different helmet shapes and padding can affect the fit. Always use the correct model chart.
Do Airoh helmets loosen over time?
The comfort padding may compress slightly with use, but the protective EPS liner shouldn't be expected to change shape to accommodate your head.
What if my Airoh helmet model isn't listed?
Check the model's manufacturer's instructions before choosing a size. Airoh has produced numerous helmets with different sizing arrangements, so don't assume the general chart applies to every model.
